Under the leadership of the Fresno County Workforce Investment Board (Workforce Connection), adults and dislocated workers may now access employment, education, and training services through a unique combination of five Workforce Connection One-Stop Centers that are located in Fresno (2 locations), Coalinga, Reedley, and Mendota, a satelite resource centers in Kerman, and a mobile employment center that provides scheduled services in San Joaquin, Selma, Parlier, Orange Cove and Huron. The One-Stop System provides universal core services as well as access to other programs and services available from partner agencies, including the Employment Development Department, Department of Rehabilitation, California Indian Manpower Consortium, Proteus, Inc., Fresno County Economic Opportunities Commission, Department of Employment and Temporary Assistance, State Center Community College District, Fresno Adult School, Clovis Adult School, West Hills Community College, and Fresno Housing Authority. Core Services Guided by the One-Stop principles of universal access and customer choice, the One-Stop system offers lifelong, universal access to informational and self-directed core services. Staff assisted services, such as individual assessment, job search, and employment assistance, are also available to persons who register for these services at the One-Stop Center. Intensive Services Intensive services such as comprehensive assessment, individual employment plans, career counseling, and case management are available to persons unable to obtain and retain employment as a result of receiving core services. These services are also available to employed workers who have not reached a level of economic self-sufficiency. Training Services Training may be available to individuals who are unable to find and retain employment for self-sufficiency as a result of core and intensive services. These services include occupational skills training, on-the-job training, and customized training. Supportive Services Supportive services may be available for dislocated workers to enable them to participate in core, intensive, and training services, based on need. Customers will be able to access One-Stop services at the comprehensive One-Stop Center and from satellites located throughout the county. Satellites may not provide all of the services available at the comprehensive One-Stop Center, but, they will be able to provide you with information regarding all One-Stop services and how to access them.
